We are inviting you to get involved in our Community Day Roots Allotment in Meadow Hill, Croydon. Earlier this year, we announced that we are building a Market Garden to address food insecurity, promote sustainable farming practices, and create a space for community learning and engagement. The Market Garden is at the heart of Black Farmer’s Market CIC’s mission to empower communities, particularly within London’s Black population, by improving access to fresh, nourishing food and supporting overall wellbeing.
Activities:
- Woodchipping pathways
- No-dig bed building
- Shed construction
- Polytunnel building
What to bring:
- Warm and weatherproof clothing
- Gardening gloves
- Comfortable shoes
- Plastic bags (to cover your shoes in case it’s muddy)
PLEASE NOTE: The activities will spread across the winter season due to capacity and minimal equipment. If you can’t join this session we will be running them once a month until April 2025.
