About
Founders Natasha Pencil and Aisha Jade traded on Brixton Market back in 2016 until 2019. After the market closed in 2019, they noticed a lack of opportunities for Black Farmers in the UK despite farmer’s markets increasing in and outside of the Lambeth borough. Fast-forward to 2022, the Black Farmer’s Market is providing a safe space for local growers and new businesses, to reach new customers whilst restoring value of environmentalism and agriculture in the Black community.
The Mission
We are a grassroots Black-British led organisation creating safe spaces for the social and economic empowerment for the Black community in environmentalism and agriculture.
